Driving lessons Bury St Edmunds Suffolk

To start taking driving lessons, you will need to be 17 years of age and to hold a valid provisional driving licence. A provisional licence can be applied for up to three months before your Birthday. You will then have your licence and can book your first driving lesson as soon as you turn 17. Driving lessons will commence at a time specified by you and at your chosen location. They will be conducted on a one to one basis with the same driving instructor. If you wish, you can be dropped off at an alternative location and no car sharing with other students is involved. We offer lessons from 60, 90 and 120 minutes or longer if requested.

Our cars are modern, well maintained with dual controls and are small, which is ideal for manoeuvres.

How many driving lessons will I need?

Your very first lesson will be not only be teaching you to drive, it will also be an assessment lesson. Your driving instructor will be assessing how fast you learn and well you are getting to grips with the vehicles controls. Based on this and your instructors experience, he or she will provide you with an estimation of how many hours of driving lessons you will need to obtain test standard.

The DSA state the average amount of hours needed is 45 with 22 hours of private tuition. At Bury St Edmunds Driving School our learners reach test standard in around 30 hours of driving lessons or less. We believe this is due to our easy learning system combined with a patient and relaxed approach to teaching.

4 driving lessons for only £20 conditions

Bury St Edmunds Driving School is pleased to bring you this fantastic new offer. To qualify, your first lesson will be 2 hours. The fee for these 2 initial lessons will be £20. When the time arrives for your first test, these 2 hours will be free of charge. All we ask is that you must complete a minimum of 10 hours with Bury St Edmunds Driving School. These can be individual lessons or block bookings where further discounts can be made.
