Pass Plus is an additional course taken after you have taken and passed your practical driving test. The benefits of Pass Plus is to gain more driving experience and once completed will provide a significant insurance discount with participating providers. Your premium can be reduced by up to 30%

The Pass Plus course will be taken with the same driving instructor throughout the duration of the course and must be completed in a minimum of 6 hours. The course can be taken in a single day or spread over several weeks if desired. The Pass Plus course is spread over 6 training modules.

These modules are as follows:

• Motorway driving - navigating complex motorway lanes and systems
• Dual carriageways - entering and leaving dual carriageways
• Town driving - busy 1-way systems and complicated roundabouts
• Rural roads - understanding correct speed and position
• All weather driving - to include fog, rain and snow
• Night time driving - gaining confidence to drive at night

What happens when I have finished the Pass Plus course?

There is no test taken at the end of the Pass Plus scheme, although your Pass Plus registered instructor will grade you throughout. An achieved or exceeded standard must be met.
On completing the short course, your grading form will be sent to the DSA where in return, they will send you a certificate of completion.
